Introduction – General UAS knowledge

A UAS (Unmanned Aircraft System) consists of the drone, the remote controller, and related software.

As a drone pilot, you must understand how your drone works and its key components.

This knowledge helps you fly safely and responsibly.

Drone components

A drone consists of motors, propellers, a flight controller, and sensors.

The flight controller ensures stability and control.

Sensors assist with positioning and obstacle detection.

GNSS and positioning

GNSS (such as GPS) allows your drone to determine its position.

This is important for stability and features like Return-To-Home.

Poor signal can result in inaccurate flight behavior.

Batteries and power

Most drones use LiPo batteries.

They provide high power but can be dangerous if misused.

Always monitor battery levels during flight.

Failsafe and RTH

Failsafe systems ensure the drone reacts safely in case of issues.

Return-To-Home (RTH) brings the drone back automatically during signal loss or low battery.

You must understand how these systems work.
