Introduction - Operational procedures

Operational procedures help you perform every flight in a consistent and safe way. They reduce the chance of mistakes and make sure you do not forget important steps.

A good procedure starts before takeoff and ends only after the drone has been safely stored.

Working consistently improves safety and professionalism.

Preparation before the flight

Before every flight, check the airspace, weather, location and technical condition of the drone. Also verify that batteries are sufficiently charged and that the firmware works correctly.

A pre-flight checklist helps you work systematically.

If something is wrong, postpone the flight.

Takeoff and flight execution

Select a safe launch area with enough clear space around the drone. During the flight, keep continuous visual contact with the drone and monitor the surroundings.

Watch for obstacles, people, animals and other aircraft.

Fly calmly and within the agreed limits.

Emergency procedures

You must know in advance what to do in case of signal loss, low battery, GPS issues or unexpected persons in the operating area. Emergency procedures should be simple, recognisable and practised.

Often the safest option is to land immediately or activate Return-To-Home.

Panic increases risk.

After the flight

After the flight, inspect the drone for damage, contamination and battery status. Record incidents or irregularities so you can learn from the operation later.

Safe storage of batteries and equipment is also part of the procedure.

Good post-flight handling prevents problems during the next flight.
